CEILING-MOUNTED BAR UNIT
This ceiling-mounted bar unit was designed during my internship in the Montreal-based interior/product design company F&Y, in the summer of 2017.

The unit was designed for the Robusto, a pizzeria in Granby, Quebec. The purpose of the unit is to store a total of 210 drinking glasses, as well as proudly displaying the restaurant's wine selection. It was designed with constant feedback from the lead designer of F&Y and the owners of the restaurants, as well as frequent meetings with metal-shop techs to ensure the final product would be easy to manufacture and assemble.

THE EXPERIENCE

My internship at F&Y has taught me a lot about working in a team with people from different fields of expertise. It has helped me sharpen my skills in communication and problem-solving. During my time at F&Y, I started by simply getting familiar with their current products as I analyzed and measured them, in order to create technical drawings for them and propose new methods of assembly to make the production process more efficient. As time went on, I was also given more responsibilities and creative freedom and encouraged to collaborate with the team to create new products.
